HELLSAW's 'Phantasm' To Be Released On Vinyl
July 13, 2008Austrian black metallers HELLSAW are set to release the vinyl version of "Phantasm" in August via Austria's Bloodred Horizon Records. The album will come in a gatefold cover and will include a poster. The first 100 copies will be made available on colored vinyl. The nine-track LP was produced by DARK FORTRESS' Victor Bullok, and is the second full-length release from the Austrian band.
HELLSAW's 2005 album, "Spiritual Twilight", was supported by extensive touring and festival appearances, establishing the name of HELLSAW in the European underground, both as a recording band and as a considerable live force.
Live appearances are very much part of the HELLSAW agenda, and the band likes to ensure that it is stage-ready at any time.
"Performing in front of a live audience," commented front man and founder Aries, "is an incredible experience. The dynamics between band and audience give a whole new dimension to the music."
The band is currently working on material for the follow-up to "Phantasm" which it hopes to begin recording in October. According to Aries, the forthcoming CD will still have the distinctive HELLSAW sound, but will be a move forward. "I think you could say that we have arrived at a sound that is unmistakably ours, now we just want to build up on that and produce an album that shows a further progression in our music," he said. "We've never been a band that likes to sit still in anything we do."
Video footage of HELLSAW performing the song "The Ember Of Your Own" at Le Romandie, Lausanne, Switzerland, during the Razors Over Europe Tour with SHINING and SKITLIV in December 2007 can be viewed below (filmed by SLUDGE bassist Ulik).
